ahh no.. i draw the black layers first then set my colored layers to overlay or softlight.
and i used some textures too. :D

oh, so you do it grayscale until you add color? then just put the color over it in one of those layers and some texture? :)

yeah.. just add some layers above those grayscale layers and fill them up with textures and colors that you like. (set the blending mode to softlight or overlay, but it really depends on the textures or colors that you want to achieve.... sometimes multiply and darken mode helps)
